News update
« on: October 15, 2004, 03:17:22 PM »
Beginning Monday, we will be adding a new member to the HTC team.  Stewart “Sudz” St. John will be joining HiTech in the programming duties here.  We previously worked with Sudz back on the first flight sim that HiTech created and we’re very happy to have him back.  Sudz has been doing game programming for the past 8 years, most recently at EA.  He will be doing a lot of graphics work here.  There’s a lot of effects in this area that need to be added or updated but HiTech has his hands full with the terrain engine and ToD.  We really look forward to seeing the improvements to the game that Sudz will bring.

We’re still working hard on getting 2.01 completed.  We hope to have it finished up in another week.  With Natedog and Superfly getting close to completion on their projects, we need to think about what planes/vehicles we’ll be doing next.  We’re still undecided at this point.

One thing that we added to our to-do list for 2.01 was to come up with a software solution that would allow AH2 to run on video cards that do not support hardware T&L(transformation and lighting).  This is a big issue for us as the el cheapo Intel video commonly used by the big computer builders is not currently able to run AH2.  HT has been working on solving this problem without incurring too much of a hit to the look and performance.  He’s ready to put it into testing and we’re looking for volunteers who have a system with the Intel video.  If you’re interested in testing this for us, please send me an email with your system specs and I’ll send you a test version.
