Free For All Country In Training Arena
« on: August 15, 2000, 03:00:00 PM »
Most of you remember when the training arena was basically an open free for all. Numerous pilots could be found mixing it up with each other and many of us learned a lot from those free for alls.

The problem was that when a new pilot came on board he was shot up almost immediately. As a result something had to be done. Hence the openning message about not interfering with others in training.

This has killed the valuable free for all training that many of us enjoyed. As a result I am suggesting that a message be included when coming into the training arena announcing that Rook or Bishop (you choose) is the open free for all country.

That way pilots in training would arrive right at Knightland in field A1 with altitude to do their training. The rest could simply switch to the free for all country and enjoy a training free for all.

The original message not to interfere with others in training would be changed slightly to indicate which country was the open free for all.

Just an idea. Am I on the right track??

You  can still have your free for all as it is. Just spend a little time in the area and see what is going on. I reccomend you ask someone before shooting them though unless that is all that is going on.

I normally take someone needing help to another field away from all the action. If you log in and only want to practice without interference that is what I reccomend you do.

Agree with mark. there is no shortage of FFA action in the MA. There is a fine line IMO that is broken. A FFA type of atmosphere can be a good learning tool, but more often than not it turns more into a seal clubbing thing. Hey like the chance to fly against pilots in this atmosphere. But then you got the guy in a panzer or M-16 sitting at the end of the runway with his gun trained on the EOR just waiting for you to spawn. Or how about the guy hovering over the field that swoops down even before his victims landing gear leaves the ground to shoot him.

The answer to this has to come from HTC.
