Video card question
« on: November 28, 2004, 01:47:14 PM »
Hi all,
My cousin wants to hop onboard and sign up. The only thing stopping him is his video card will only allow him to run 10 or below frames per second. So he's looking to get a new one but we aren't sure if he needs an AGP or PCI type card. I have a pic of the open slots in his computer but don't know how to post them. Or if anyone could describe the difference in the slots I might be able to figure it out. I'm pretty sure that's the problem, his comp is a 3ghz processor with 256MB of RAM, almost identical to mine in those departments. His video card on the other hand is a savagepro and I think only supports 16bit play while mine is a ATI RADION X300 series and I run at 75+ FPS. Anyway, any help with posting a pic or difference between the 2 card types would be greatly appreciated. THX:D

Thanks for the response Lute. As for the slot, it's different. There are 3 open slots at the bottom of the comp. To describe the slots a little, they all have one little opening, the a plastic seperater and then a much longer slot( when I say slot, I'm talking about a very small slit). I included a lame homemade pic below:rofl I don't know how much since it makes to you if any???

are all the slots lined up with each other or is 1 slot closes to the top of the computer case offset just a little and possibly a different color from the rest of the slots?

if it is then it is an AGP slot and the rest is PCI, if all slots are the same as far as lined up and same color then all are PCI slots
