some help please
« on: December 20, 2004, 04:37:47 AM »
hi..we used to play aces high 1 alot, great game, we enjoyed it immensely. We had a little break from the net, then decided to give aces high 11 a go. I downloaded the game, and it installed, but we cant get it to run. It gives us a black screen then crashes back to the desktop. I've read the forums, and made sure I have the correct direct x, updated my drivers , tried removing the file mentioned from settings and set the game on the lowest graphic resolution...still nothing. I have run a DxDiag, but wasnt sure if I should post it here or email it. Any help at all would be much appreciated!
thanks
kat

Hi Kat

These are the minimum requirements as listed by Aces High on the main page of their website.

Windows 98/ME/2K/XP
DirectX 9.0b
32M video card that supports hardware T&L
P850 or better
Joystick, sound card and speakers

Now I know a few guys who choose to fly without a joystick, for one reason or another.  So thats obviously not a requirement.  And recent updates have allowed people without a video card that supports hardware T&L to play also, so thats not a requirement anymore (although its a good idea).  However, I'm really not sure a 550 mhz K6 is going to cut it.  I know there are some people with comps in the 850 - 900 mhz range that are playing, although with some pretty low frame rates, but I seriously doubt yours is going to be fast enough.  I could be wrong though.  You are welcome to post your Dx Diagnostic here, or you can email it to Skuzzy at the support@hitechcreations.com email addy.  Good luck!

The CPU is a bit low for Aces High II, but the big issue here is the video card.  It simply will not work.  Wish I had better news.
