Need help...
« on: December 02, 2004, 12:45:11 PM »
I just bought  new video card. The problem is I have to go into my comp. BIOS and disable the old one b/c it's built into the motherboard. Does anyone know what I'm looking to disable in there? It's an AMD Athlon XP 2000. I'm running on Windows XP. Thanks

in the bios it should be easy to find...

OS and processer have nothing to do with the BIOS, motherboard manufacturer, model, and BOIS revision if you can find them will help us tell you where to go.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Is there a folder to find the motherboard info? I checked the board itself and the only thing I found was a little black box with this writtin on it:

Pheonix BIOS
D888 BIOS

No idea if that means anything, it's just the only thing I could find on the board that might be remotely useful.

When you first start your computer, go to the BIOS setup.  Usually this is done by pressing the Delete key during boot up, right after the POST beep.  There should be instructions on the screen how to access the BIOS setup, although not always.  There should be an option for disabling onboard components, one for sound, one for video.  Good luck.

Did a little searching on the website of comp. manufactorer. I'm 99% sure this is the motherboard:

Manufactorer:Syntax
Model:SV266
As for which revision I have no clue but it gives me several choices. They are SV266M--awd822a; SV266M--ICS; SV266M--Realtek; SV266M V1.1--ICS; SV266M V1.1-- Realtek.

Anyway, hope this helps and thanks for the reply:)
