Whale, Rivera, Jue, now the leading interception leader activly playing in the league Sharper.

for a GM to say one of the best safeties in the league "is not worth the $6 mil cap number" is ridiculous.

Sharper is going to get alot more than that in the free agent market, and we'll be stuck with absoulutly NO secondary. not a single decent player on the roster.

i HATE this guy, he is destroying a dynasty, and i hope he gets lynched for it.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Dood... the Packers haven't been in an NFC championship game since 1997.

Safeties are not really worth the big money. Where teams have tended to make the biggest mistakes are when they reach for positions other than tackle, defensive end, quarterback and cornerback. The biggest failures have been at safety. The Saints gave Tebucky Jones seven-years and $29.25 million after trading for him in 2003 and are expected to cut him before the weekend. Dexter Jackson got a five-year, $14 million contract from the Cardinals and didn't make it through two seasons in the desert. The Falcons cut Cory Hall after two seasons of a five-year, $12.25-million contract. You are better off spending the money elsewhere. I thought losing Wahle(lol, you spelled it whale, very funny :) ) was a bigger loss, where he can move to tackle when needed.
"My grandaddy always told me, "There are three things that'll put a good man down: Losin' a good woman, eatin' bad possum, or eatin' good possum."" - Holden McGroin

(and I still say he wasn't trying to spell possum!)

I agree with you that the safties are not the biggest key on defense but on a defense as sad as the packs, they cant afford to lose the good guys they have. I think your are also right about wahle, this will be the biggest challenge for the pack, to see if guys can step up and fill in.

There is a real dynasty(of 9 points) that operates pretty well on the belief that no player is worth the most that he can earn as a free agent.

well lets take the sharper example....

to the packers he WAS worth 6 mil cap this year, actual like 2.5 mil salary.

on the free market he WILL get a 2-3 million per year + 6-8 million signing bonus easy.

so your thought of worth just went haywire.

same with wahle, and rivera. we could have kept them for the same salary, or a tiny bit more, but teddy didn;'t think they were worth it. obviously others thought they were worth over 2 TIMES what we were paying them. thye both got deals thatwe could have easily matched.

no we have a quarterback in the twilight of his carrer, and will be making most of his passes from his back, or injured on a sack.

this is the most telling comment:

But this is what we do. We work at it and we try to assemble the best team we can, and maybe the next left guard and the next right guard isn't as good as the one we had before.

"But maybe we're a little better somewhere else. That's the way we'll attack it and do the best we can."
I don't know what to put here yet.
