I doubt it's a joke. When I first came to work in my current job I had to install new computers and train the teachers and staff on how to use them. You would not beleive how many times I had to explain that there isn't a "ANYKEY" button for them to press.

I have actually had to explain this to people myself. Also had to tell a (l)user what the space bar looked like when she said she couldn't see any key with the word "space" on it.

Problem with Compaq's approach is anyone dumb enough not to know what "any" key is won't be able to find that support webpage.

I think the simple fact is that many people are terrified by computers, and this causes them to drop several points from their usual IQ score.
