Object editor nuttiness
« on: June 02, 2005, 02:49:18 PM »
I've sucessfully gotten the object editor to crash and or dissapear, then not open :)

Basically, opened up the OE, converted a3cd object, restarted OE, built /saved said object....closed object editor.

Took new shape and textures, placed those in texsrc file of current terrain - then opened Terrain editor.  Inserted object into terrain - didnt show up in TE.

Went back to object editor to check some things - didn't open.
gets to the point of almost opening - then poof...nothing.

Anyway - deleted the "tile" of the object i was working on, and then the object editor opened....

I re-imported the ac3d file, restarted and when I clicked on the object in the list on the right - the program dissapeared again.

Evidently on my machine - it doesn't like re-opening after a build of an object.

Need to add this -

When the object was "sliced' in the object editor, the parts of it showed up in the TE, when I placed the object in as a whole, it didnt show.

IIRC the built objects appeared earlier in newshps folder, but now they come to userlib... could there be something wrong in the "build" command?

Actually this happened when I used an old til with newly converted shp:s. Are the old til:s compatible?

if the are ending up in the userlib folder, that would be an oops on my part.

Hitech,
could you enlighten us about possible changes in OE and TE? Were they just mainly issues of compatibility with current AH version or were there some functional changes as well?

At least the z-axis mirroring (in ac3d conversion) is now corrected, but anything else we should know about?
