Author Topic: Hi alt buff boot bug (Read 315 times)

Three high alt buffs runs in a row over two months have resulted in a boot. I only do about one each camp and each time I get booted. Never have any problems with boots any other time. Once the eggs land and the text buffer starts to show hits the problem starts. Usually the hits don't pop up all at once but slowly come in. Then after a few minutes I get the full boot.

Tuned off my squad channel to an empty channel tonight to see if vox might be causing the problem and had exactly the same thing happen again. Four times in a row now.

Tried to bomb again last night and nearly got booted again. It appears that 20K is the "Magic" alt. When I dropped at 19K the hits scrolled quickly in the text, but when I dropped at a bit over 20K the hits did not show immediately but slowly popped up over a few minutes. Seeing this, I dropped down below 20K and did not get booted.
Any help would sure be appreciated.

I was bombing last night at 24 k and did not have a problem. might want to add the plane, loadout and target along with your pc details.

I think it has happened to me in both 24's and 17's. Loadout has always been 1K eggs and it doesn't seem to matter what the target - its been factories and towns.
I sure hope its not something on my end - I never have boot problems except in this one situation and then it always happens.

Hmmm something new happened yesterday that might be related to this. Twice while strafing down buildings in a town, the bullets stopped having any effect and then BOOT. The 2rd time I dropped bombs on the town and no hits registered - then started strafing and BOOT. I'm wondering now if my problem isn't stemming from hitting buildings.
Perhaps I am completely off base, the only reason I associate it with hitting buildings is because those are the only two times I have been booted this camp and both happened while hitting town buildings - seems like more than a coincidence to me.
Since nobody else has this problem it must be something on my end. I am running a AMD64 3000+ that is moderately overclocked to 2.25. The temps max out at 47C and I was running a 2.5 oc until summer hit here and the temps starting getting into the 50-51 range (CPU heat is much easier to manage in a 60 degree home!). Could it be the overclock causing the problem - when eggs hit the damage info is too much for it to handle?
Clearly I'm lost here but I'd really like to get this resolved. Should I be posting in another forum??
