GV modeling or hack??
« on: June 11, 2005, 11:28:50 AM »
which is it??  Countries GV's r modeled diffrently so that some die easier or have better ammunition,  some sort of ratio factoring to even game-play????   or are they being hacked??    Why is it always same names pop up when these GV's are encountered???  If all GV's are modeled same for each country then what is it that makes some seem invincible to the point of absurdity???

Think what u want write what u want but the fact remains valid.

Yea I shoot Tiger tanks like right up the monkeys oscar with a panzer or T34 and doenst do nothing. I sat behind a disabled tiger with a T34 for at least 10 min shooting him in the back which is 1 of the weakest spots on a tiger and it wont die. They just bounce off. Some thing must be wronge, or nothing cannot match up to the Tiger.

Amazed this hasnt been locked yet....that being said....

1st, the GV damage model is significantly different then the aircraft one. "supposedly" there are kill zones. You can playaround off line now and experiment yourself. I can tell you that there are two spots you can kill a tiger in (with PZ) at 1200 and 3 at 800...not on 1st ping usually...but 2 almost all the time....of course you need to be able to hit them. Since AH doesnt have any published info on this those who know do have a significant advantage....

2nd, the randomization is pretty extreme at times...you can hit a guy 4 or 5 times and get nada and get popped on 1 hit....or you can be on the good side of the draw...

3rd, you can certainly "game the game" more in the GV mode then in the other aspects...thats not a hack...just exploitation of a flaw in the game.

4th, some of it is simply by choice...in AH the ack is deadly at 1200 but the 37mm in M-8 is useless.

All that being said there a handful of guys who defy statistical analysis. If this was a casino instead of a flight sim they'd get dragged out back then told to not come back once they got out of the hospital:D

Everyone's so sure that when something that they do not understand happens.. it must be something about the game that is wrong.

I give this one a 2 out of 10. Too much punctuation, no film, no substance. I want my 2 minutes back.

Law of Averages. If a person uses GVs more, the more likely his name is going to show up. The more it shows up, the more you are likely to remember it.  "That's the same guy I had difficulty killing before."

i dont got enough perkies as it is and i like upen my lancs to kill 1 dang t 34 or wirble its fun droping 42 bombs

just reading the  "M16 Armour"  thread it also must:
1.  have too much punctuation
2.  have no substance
3.  no film
4.  and be a 2 out of 10

not enough Bones  but plenty of spock. "it's just not logical Jim"

guess they all must be halucinating too huh?

Nobody is hallucinating, but a lot of people are venting steam. Be it that someone has no skill in GVs or the other person is an expert and they get killed too many times, they'll come and moan about it. There are hundreds of threads stating that there is something wrong with the modeling with nothing more than hear-say and words.

There are few people that DON'T think the halftracks are messed up; that you're right about. AP shouldn't bounce off of a jeep with tracks.

Actually, I do think the halftracks are messed up.

But I don't think the tank vs tank armour penetration modelling is messed up in anyway.

Go here grasshoppers: emodin’s GV manual.  It was written for AH1 but it still applies.
Easy in-game again.
