WWII Tactical FPS
« on: June 19, 2005, 02:29:11 PM »
Anyone know of a new WWII FPS coming out?

I need a new FPS.. WWII...

Prefabrly as realistic as you could possibly get...

Vehicles don't really matter but would be a great +..

I have BF1942.. but it sucks bellybutton compared to MOH:AA...

BF2 is awesome.. but not WWII...

I miss my old times of yelling and screaming into a mic at a Pvt. in my clan/unit for yo-yoing a grenade and doing it myself, and then kicking bellybutton as a team..

In BF2 you can't really do that, cause it would require some 30+ tactical players for it to be the best game... Players can ruin a game...

I don't want WWIIOL though, you slide around like your on ice..

Brothers in Arms is one of the best ones i've played in a long time.

COD is pretty good too.

The new MOH is good but I don't think it's for PCs, just for consoles.  Brothers in Arms is fantastic and Call of Duty is almost as good.

For online play, can't get much better than Day of Defeat.  Valve decided to chuck the direct port and start from scratch with the Source engine.  It's looking damn good.  Another good online one is Red Orchestra which is unique because it's set in the Eastern Front.

http://www.TheThirdReich.com .

It has been out for UT for quite a while.  But for a while now, they've had the Torque Engine license and are making an entirely free standalone game.  It's realism based FPS.

It really has nothing to show right now, but (since I know a lot of the devs really well) I've heard that there is going to be a huge amount of media coming out.

Red Orchestra is more of a sim than an FPS. Of course that means it has less players but on the upside you have weapons you have to actuallly aim (with iron sights) to hit and you don't get people bunny hopping across the maps,

Sounds good. You have to buy unreal first?
