Actually I like the one without the invasion stripes better, as it's more generic.  Therefore I go with Guppy35's version.

Do you know of any reference material on this paint scheme, besides the one in the 1982 Squadron/Signal "P51 Mustang in Color"?  That shows top, bottom, left side and front, but not right side.  I assume photos would be useful as well.

Almost missed this one.  I have some other stuff on it, including some photos in a couple different books.  I'll dig them out later tonight after work.

It only carried the D-Day stripes for one day as it was shot down with another pilot on D-Day.

It didn't carry any art on the right side.

OK so I could only find this photo :)

Found in "Escort to Berlin-The 4th Fighter Group in WWII" by Jeff Ethell and Garry Fry

Also my own feeble attempt at the "Deacon" nose art when I did my profile based on the included photo.
