Carrol O'Connor is the actor from a 70's series "Archie Bunker's place".  More recently he played in "In the Heat of the Night".

As Archie Bunker, he played a biggoted middle age middle class husband/father trying to cope with his hippie daughter and her friends/boyfriend.  It was a classic parody of biggotry and stereotypes.

It was one of my favorite programs growing up as a kid. The one that I liked the most was when Edith was talking to him in the chair and he couldn't stand listening to her anymore. He pretended to have an imaginary gun in his hand and started playing Russian Rulette with it as she is talking to him, and the face he gave her after he pretended he shot himself in the head was histerical. I laughed, I think thru the whole show after that. This brings back alot of funny memories,I have to look for the reruns for All in the Family.

I have almost every episode on tape. One of the all time great TV shows. Im Gona dig them out tonight and have a few more laughs in his memory.
