Tuna/mayo? Here we use ground herring mixed with brynza (salty low-fat cheeze) and dill. Good with black bread but much better with pancakes.

Hmm. Never thought about it as "zakuska", but on "Shrovetide" week it definetly is. But for vodka. But I prefer pancakes with caviar or salmon (syomga).

Ok, I very rarely offer up a recipe, but here is one that anyone can do.

Take a bag of pretzels (regular size, not the large ones), put in a few teaspoons of vegetable oil, pour in a couple of teaspoons of cayenne pepper, toss a pouch of the ranch dressing mix in there, and shake it all up.

Empty into a bowl, let it sit for about 10 minutes, then serve.

Different types of beer go better with different types of food. Wheaties with bread and cheese and deli sandwiches, ales with meat and potatoes etc.
