ok..a new guy i brought into Ah..."eor" just got waked


I tell him to dont go to porn sites..dotn open attchment emails..ect


well hes got somthn ...

a pop up show sup..says hello you have bounce somthing or other....If you want to fix your comptuer send us 29.95


can u beleive this chieti?

seems like thats illegal..


what can he do?

Somewhere on Symantec.com there's a free virus check. If it isn't there any more, there has to be one somewhere. If whatever you use doesn't kill the virus, go to symantec.com and click Virus Removal Tool and select the virus you have.

That's, of course, if you can get on the net.

Symantec's website will more than likely tell you how to get rid of it.  Another option is to try http://www.pcpitstop.com and run their free virus scanner.  When it finds the file(s) you write down the names, boot up in safe mode and delete em.

Alternatives are Panda ActiveScan online at http://www.pandasoftware.com or Trend Micro Antivirus Online at http://www.trendmicro.com.  The bottom line is never ever believe a popup telling you that something is amiss on your system as it has NO way of knowing whether you do or don't.
