Gore is spot on here. I agree with Dune about 18th century literacy and would add the yellow journalism period was a low point for print journalism as bad as anything today, but he does sum up today's problems pretty well.

BTW, this is Gore the non-politician speaking with some non-politician candor, not the cartoon image Gore the politician so many have been programmed to hate. Read what he has to say. It's not about "what I would have done - bush sucks." It's about the news media.

I can't imagine how intolerably boring it had to be to listen to, esepcially in Gore's "sleep-o-matic" monotone voice. Gore actually makes a point that not many people would disagree with (out of control self-serving media), but his message drowns in a cascading tidal wave of boredom.

I agree - but, that's kind of the big problem isn't it? If it isn't entertaining in a soundbite, 30 second attention span sort of way, or doesn't talk about Katie Holmes love child, nobody bothers. Sometimes you have to bear down and face the boredome to lean anything and become informed.

[edit: I'm interestd in this stuff and it was still a pain to read :)]

Here's a MP3 for though's of you too lazy to read it :D, I kid, I kid.
But the funny thing is ...... that's exactly the attitude Gore is talking about.

(politicians) They could give a hoot in hell about anything other than being reelected.

That is also what Gore is talking about.

With all respect (I know you might be very busy with life)
But if you can't be bothered to read, maybe a listen will work?

Didn`t know MP3 was into politics...............or MP4, 5,6,7 for that matter. :)
Democracy is two wolves deciding on what to eat. Freedom is a well armed sheep protesting the vote.

I dont think Gore would have done anything, (except maybe rent out the Lincoln Bedroom again to get more campaign contributions).
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Gores an idiot, Bush needs a reality check.  Politicians argue about everything, wheather its good for America or not.  I can only imagine what the founding fathers would think about what the government has come too.  Though i may not always agree with Bush, on subjects, he is our president and we are a country at war, so Bush gets my kudos, because when America is at war, EVERYONE should be behind the president AND the troops!

"Until they all come home!"

God Bless the U.S.of A!!!!
