For the LA-5FN they called it hte Lavochka what exactly did that meen?

Manufacturer. Examples: La - Lavotchkan, Il - Illusian(sp?), Yak - Yakolev, MiG - Mikoyan/Gurivech, etc.

It is Russian diminutive of Lavochkin, kind of an affectionate nickname ("Little Lavochkin").

"Lavka", or "Lavochka" means a "bench" or a "little bench", or "small shop".

Bench = "ÓËÁÍÅÊËÁ"? "Home-made wooden bench" is a better translation IMHO, but in your example "ÌÁ×ÏÞËÁ" is probably a park-bench or a bench at the door. (ÌÁ×ÏÞËÁ Õ ËÒÙÌØÃÁ ÉÌÉ ÐÏÄßÅÚÄÁ).

This words are used depending on a local dialect. Like "ÐÏÒeÂÒÉË" in Leningrad vs. "ÂÏÒÄÀÒ" in Moscow.
