Can Spit 16 be used to 1943 setups?

i asked this question because spit 16 almost looks like our 1943 spit 9 clipped wing with same power.

The SpitXVI is a mid-late '44 plane. It came out around the same time as the 109G14.

Agreed.  Spit VIII can be used in place of the Spit LF.IX though.
