Landing ship tank. When fleet gets into lvt spawn range you could spawn LST to deliver m8s flaks m16s m3s or at the very least the m8s so something with ap rounds could hit the beach to defend lvts.

If we ever get a sherman, it could deliver those as well.

The idea is interesting, but I'd bet this would be a bear to code.  You'd have to select the GV you are transporting, and then somehow the game would have to transfer you INTO that GV once you hit the beach (or hit D for deploy or something) while at the same time stopping on the shoreline (since the LST can't go on land) and checking the water depth (to make sure the vehicle doesn't sink when deployed).

Well as far as beaching is concerned the pt boat beaches now so that part is done. As for load out give it hanger options like all gvs  pts etc. IE LST with 1 m8 2 flaks 1 m16 or 3 m8s 2 m16s etc etc. Then a join command like a buff gunners for people to jump on and drive gvs off.

But then again I dont coad for a living what the heck do I know.

Good Idea icemaw. I definately think that the LST driver should stay an LST driver for that "flight" no spawning an LST then hitting the beach and driving a tank.

If the LST can only carry one armoured vehicle (tank or M8) then the LST is redundant once it is beached......

The lst pilots opens the doors , moves to the tank and attempts to drive it out............ he is then a tank driver.

I think the confusion may come when trying to set up icons.........but then I dont like icons on ground vehicles any way.................

If you want a vehicle with AP capability the easy way is to add the LVTA1 which is like our LVTA4 except with the same 37mm gun as the M8 instead of the 75mm howitzer.

Think something like this LCM - Mk.6  might be more practical and far more easy to make up than a LST.

At 56' in length by 14' in beam, The LCM could carry one Sherman Tank, one Half-track, one armored car or 80 troops.

The LST was a VERY large size vessel at 328' x 50' - approaching the size of the Destroyer Escorts we have with the fleet.

It actually can carry the LCM's as Deck Cargo or 4-6 regular LCVP's on divitis that can be lauched over the side not to mention Dukws, LVT's or Tanks from the well deck.
