If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger.  If you pull back on the stick, the houses get smaller.  That is, unless you keep pulling the stick back, then they get bigger again.

DC-10 had an exceedingly long rollout after landing with his approach speed a little high. San Jose Tower: "American 751 heavy, turn right at the end of the runway, if able. If not able, take the Guadeloupe exit off Hughway 101 and make a right at the light to return to the airport."

The stick controls airspeed, the throttle controls altitude.   All new pilots learn that rule.  :aok
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Actually, thats a lot more true than one might think at first sight.

Nose down = speed up.
Throttle iddle = descent.
21 is only half the truth.

Freedom implies risk. Less freedom implies more risk.

It is quite true, that is why I typed it.  Very important to remember when flying an approach.
