Hey Nash,

Still would like to know where/how those songs were recorded. They really sound great.

I'm especially interested in the drums and bass.

All of my songs, except Spirits & Ghosts, are programmed drum machine stuff I did on a Roland RM-8.

I'd love to hear more of your stuff.

Slimm50, thanks. My acoustic is a mid-priced Yamaha that I mic. My electric is an Ibanez.....don't remember what model ( and it doesn't say on it), but it's a strat body and was kind of high-end when I got it. Got a Yamaha bass with active EMG's.

As you may notice, lyrics are not my strong point. I basically suck at lyrics.

Hey Nuke.

It was recorded in a single cement room (the acoustics were surprisingly great) with Pro Tools Digi 001 (8 channel) and recorded to HD. I forget what that CPU was, but it was in the 700's.... very slow by today's standards.

The drums were mic'd with various mics (Shure, Sennheiser, etc., the usual culprits)... 8 of them.... 2 for the top/bottom of snare, 1 high hat, 1 bass drum, 2 for the toms, one between the floor tom and ride, and one overhead mic to get the crashes and room sound. It was a challenge because I'd generally want two bass drum mics (one inside, and one where the beater hits the skin to get that "slap"), seperate crash mics and two mics for the room. But such is recording on the cheap.

The bass went direct, essentially. It was run through a compressor prior to hitting the 001.
