Where I Live...

First off, a couple of NZ WBs:

Second off, the airport where I (and Spatula) have to GRIP the seats like it was our last breath:

A word of explanation, Wellington airport has a nasty habit of picking up crosswinds  :) so if you ever come to my part of the world, I'll be the bastard parked on the hill laffin at the poor salamanders puking all over the tarmac (unless we're scrapin em of it again!).

Cool videos Vulcan. Enjoyed em both and the last one reminded me of some crosswind landings in a 152 I did at Meacham airport with close to 15knots comming across the runway. At the design limit of the airplane. Sure was glad I had a good instructer with me...

Hehe, yer i've been through a few of those type of landings at wellington. Word of advice, dont eat meals within at least an hour of landing at wellington on a bad day.

The spit anf hurri vid was taken at the masterton airshow earlier this year i think. Cool stuff  :)

I've been in your country 2 years ago and it is beautiful. I visited the Wanaka museum and took a 30min ride with "Miss Torque", a 1945 two-seater P-51D Mustang. The instructor did almost everything you can do with a Mustang ... ahhh yes, we buzzed the tower at about 250mph as well  :)
"And one of the finest aircraft I ever flew was the Macchi C.205. Oh, beautiful. And here you had the perfect combination of italian styling and german engineering .... it really was a delight to fly ... and we did tests on it and were most impressed." - Captain Eric Brown
