No X45s up now, and reconditioned X52 is $69.99.

Unless I'm seeing a diff site due to my location...

don;t knwo about that... I still use my X45 throttle because of the rudder-rocker. I use it as "move head" left and right in-game.

Mustaine, do you use the x45 thrtl with another stick. If so can you explain your connections, driver issues.

Thanks,

my desk:

i run the X45 and the CH fighterstick pro and pro pedals.

I use the saitek SST programming software, all buttons set as keyboard presses (i.e. "f" for my trigger, "KEYPAD 5" for look up, so on)

I also use the CH control manager with a profile where the stick and pedals are combined into 1 logical device. the CH software does this, and again buttons are set as keypresses. no direct-x buttons are set, only analog axis.

with the CH software you must download the profile to the devise, and if you are like me I do not have the profile active all the time. before playing I have to run a "profile now" program called "CMstart.exe." I also have to activate the saitek profile before playing.

in-game I remved any and all button assignments in the stick configs, and manually assign each axis. the new AH interface screwed me up for a while since I am so used to the old setup, but once I got it figured out it was much easier than the old way to do all of this.

If you think logically, and go slowly step by step, it is not that hard to set up.

I love Mustaine's "move head on the rocker" idea and plan to see if I can do that.

I run a Saitek X52 stick with a Saitek X45 throttle and CH Pro Peddles, no SST programing needed but I'm allways trying to improve the setup.

AH mode switching on the keyboard is required to switch setups between fighters and one of the 3 bomber setups. I don't use the Saitek mode roller.

If anyone needs the .jsm files send me a PM and I'll post here, otherwise I won't spam the thread.
Easy in-game again.

you won't with out using the saitek programming software.

you set the analog rocker axis to "banded" make 3 seperate bands and split them evenly...

then you assign a key press to the outer 2 bands leaving the center blank.

those can not be made into a direct x button assignment sorry.

Actually move right/left is one of the AH analog options.  It's really sweet, thanks for the idea!

Now if I could just program two functions to a single button I'd never regret not using SST.

Apparently the pinkie switch is a modifier in the SST software. (I don't use it either.) Example: Button 1 = Fire Primay. Pinkie+Button 1 = Fire All.
