Agree Rocket, terrorists are just liek bullies in school, the more atention they get the happier they get, and the more people will follow them and dare follow them because they have seen what they can do.

Rocket, Keiran, I am a pretty intelligent man, I also am predisposed to thinking through situations and handling them appropriately, BUT....

If someone breaks into my house, I am going to redecorate my walls with thier brains.  This is solely an emotional reaction to my home being violated.
These nutjobs have violated OUR home, we need to use the emotions we are feeling about this to retaliate.  We also need to be damn sure we get the right ones in the process.  But we do not need to calmly think this through.  If we do, we will get back into the apathetic mode that got us here in the first place.
There is a time for calm clear thought, there is also a time for swift, harsh actions.  I beleive this is the time for the latter.

Someone breaks into your house at night, the room is dark, you fire away, turn lights on, you've hit the wrong person.

Not saying we shouldn't retaliate, saying we should know for sure who deserves it. The media is to some extent going to make that difficult to do.

I am very clear on this.  Yes, find out who did it, and be damn sure we know for sure, then play our emotions to the hilt and remove the amazinhunks from this planet in one massive blow.
They invaded my house, our house and by God they will pay for it.

Oh, and if you enter my house and do not know where the light switch is, and the security code you are dead meat.

The media's ability to report on this and any other major happening is te mark of a free society. You cannot clamp down on them simply because they make mistakes. They will sort themselves out as time goes on.

Now let me say that I also am incenced by false reporting. That is not to say the media people who place too great an importance on "getting a story" like interferring with EM personell do not deserve to get arrested. I have had to "escort" news maggots away from a scene more than once. Not all newsies are maggots however.

This story needs to be broadcast and as fast as possible. Yes it tells the amazinhunks responsible for planing that they were successful. So does a sudden news blackout. The blackout would say even more, that we were totally paralyzed by the action taken against our country.

We cannot formulate a proper response until all available information is collected and analyzed. The population of this nation, and the world needs to be advised of the events that occured and know that our reaction is comming. As hard as it sounds, this will mobilized our country to accept that it is fediddleing time to take terrorism seriously and do something about it. In the mean time everyone must know that they are vulnerable and take steps to look at their surroundings. Hopefully there will be no more acts of this type on the way in the immediate future.

I listened to the horror of this unfold from work (It was around 2pm GMT). I have to admit to being completely stunned that anyone could even contemplate such an act. I agree the media coverage bordered on the theatrical at times and getting one up on their media rivals seemed more important to some than the loss of life.   The general condemnation by foreign leaders throughout the world, Europe, Far East & Middle East etc makes me wonder if we will ever know who was responsible. If the people are however identified any response must be measured to target those responsible. Total anhialation is in my opinion perfectly acceptable but indiscriminate wiping out of entire nations because of association is not the way to go. The Gun laws in the UK are a bit different to the US so I have a sword (I used to fence) It has the "Blunt bit" on the end removed and before anyone asks... "If anyone tried to seriously harm my family, property or myself yes I would".

My sincere sympathy goes out to all affected by this either through loss & through physical or mental trauma.  :(
