Not Panzzer's fault, it was my suggestion to use the Japan map.  I should have checked first with Skuzzy, since we haven't used this one before.

We (meaning Panzzer - I'll be out of town) will put up some other map with this plane set once Skuzzy is able to get in to reset the arena.

I checked it out. You have F6F's listed but I didn't see any. You have F4F's, and F4U's on the CV's. F4U was deemed un-suitable for carrier ops in 1943. So they should be land based.

Just a suggestion................... ... If you do have F6F's make them CV only and allow F4F's on a couple of CV's. If no F6F's put F4F's on the CV's for fighters but no F4U's The F4U1 should be available on land bases only.

P-40B? Ehh who needs it? P40E, and P-38G good.

Keep the A6m2, as a Ki-43 sub.
A6M5, and Ki-61 good.
N1K2............ a little iffy but if you think it's needed.;)

All around nice looking setup Panzzer.:aok

Oops. I knew I must have missed something, I'll go add the F6F right away. I'll do as you say and add it to CV's only and disable the F4U's from the carriers, at least for now.

The Niki is one thing I'd like to see comments on, if it dominates the setup and whether it should be limited to rear fields or disabled.

Thanks & .

Please scrap the month long RPS scenario.

A two week RPS with a planeset that changes daily seems far more playable.

Even a one week mini RPS could prove to be enjoyable.

Actually Panzzer you could ditch the F6F5 along with the N1k2 neither of them are 1943 planes. Run it with Wildcats on the CV's.

It's a good looking settup ethier way.

one week is long enough - it gets stale too quick otherwise
change and diversity is the only thing AvA has going for it. when the same two planes are the only rides, many log out faster than they logged in and the room stays a ghost town

The -5 Hellcat was not a 1943 plane, but the -3 Hellcat was. If I'm not mistaken, the -5 added armor and all metal control surfaces, but had the same engine as the -3.

Also, when did GM make the FM-2? Maybe that would be more appropriate than the F6F-5?

The FM2 is a 1944 aircraft too - at least according to Mister Fork's aircraft service dates, it was taken into use in the Pacific in October 1944.

Maybe it would be better to drop the F6F-5 and the N1K2-J from this setup, but then the plane choices would be pretty limited. So let's see a couple of days how it goes with these planes.

Your choice Panzzer. Like I said it's a good looking setup ethier way. Nifty is correct on the -5 HCat being a 1944 plane. The F4F stayed on  many US CV's while the transition to the -3 HCat was being made in 1943.
