wtf!?

i was reading a story about that crash in italy today, and in it they referred to the other accident since 9/11 where that kid suicide dived his plane into a building in seattle

"The boy, Charles Bishop, left behind a suicide note saying that al-Qaida terrorists had tried to recruit him, but police said there was no truth to the claim. Relatives of the boy, who was the only fatality, have filed a lawsuit claiming the acne drug Accutane was behind his suicide."

what the hell is wrong with this world. stupid lawsuits suck.

Oh yeah
All over the local news. Boy was fine, perfect according to grandma and mother (who looks about as sad as if her dog got hit by a car). It was the meds! 60 million, 30 million some crazy number.

$$$$ all about the almighty $

funny though she doesn't mention some failed suicide pack she and her hubby had in their teenage years. Too bad, if it had succeeded their warped offspring wouldn't have come to be....

edit

sry $70 million

if this goes through, I'm gonna sue Accutane next.  I never got into fights with my mom until I was in the later years of high school, which is when I started taking Accutane.   I think $15 million will cover the psychological effects that the medicine gave me, i.e. being such a salamander!   I most definitely would have continued to be an angel had it not been for the Accutane.  Accutane put unbearable amounts of stress on my relationship with my mother, and I think I'm entitled to reparations from the makers of Accutane.

147 out of an estimated 13,000,000 patients have committed suicide.  That's 0.001% of the patients since the drugs inception.  Anyone have the suicide rates of teenagers in the same period?

http://www.nimh.nih.gov/research/suifact.htm

here ya go, "Suicide was the 3rd leading cause of death among young people 15 to 24 years of age, following unintentional injuries and homicide.  The rate was 10.3/100,000, or 0.01%."

ok, so the actual suicide rate among young people 15 to 24 is an order of magnitude greater than the suicide rate among Accutane patients.  What did the kid eat for breakfast that day?  Maybe that was the cause too?  Sue the orange juice makers!

Way to go, getting to the heart of the matter Nifty. Of course, she is only a jury of her peers away from getting all that cash.
