Damn fine day of football yesterday

Not NFL, Roughrider football!

Warning: Proud father moment....one of my proudest moments actually....

My son is a starting fullback and starting Defense End this year.  The game yesterday was a defensive battle, 0-0 score until 45 seconds left in the game.  The opposition punts out of their endzone after an awesome defensive stand by our team.  The ball is tipped at the line of scrimmage, and my son catches the tipped ball and scores a TD in the endzone. Game over. :) (Well, the other team had two more snaps of the ball after our scroe but we shut them down.)

Of course, I missed the shot  because I thought the ball was being punted downfield (DOH!) but got the picture of his celebration in the endzone after. Final score was 6-0. My son had 8 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 2 sacks and the game-winning blocked-punt-recovered for a TD.
He's number 37 in pics below.
Pics:

Celebration in endzone after game winning TD(final 6-0)

A sack sequence. (Pics are alittle blurred, I need image stabilization dammit!)

nice photos but really a waste of time for your boys
you should get him into swimming, golf, wrestling, etc - something they have a shot at staying healthy and getting a scholarship into college with.
the truth is that they are having fun now but percentages state they will be bench warmers by college if not HS or jr hi depending where they go ..

maybe if it was 1962 but by the time they grow up my guess is baseball, football & basketball will be 99.999999% black/hispanic. Nothing wrong with it unless you are a little white boy and think you have a future in the NBA, NFL, etc ... hate to see your boys get a life long injury for nothing. any sales on the photos?

Thanks guys. :) The day was doubly-sweet.

As some of you know I created a business for the parents of all the sports pictures I shoot.
http://www.printroom.com/pro/memories/
Last year was free as I established myself as a photographer for one division of football and a few baseball and soccer team(s). This year another photograher and I joined forces and we had our opening day at our picture booth (displayes, examples, etc) at the home game. The way we operate is that we have one photographer in the booth making sales and answering questions, the other on the field shooting. We take turns shooting all 5 games.

Over $600 in sales onsite and over 100 business cards were picked up by perspective customers (Business cards have the URL link directing folks where to purchase pics online) !! This greatly exceeded our expectations for opening sales. We had a ton of folks who said they'd be buying as the season progresses as well.

:aok

Eagler, he has no interest in sports as a living. He plays sports because he enjoys them.

He wants to be a lawyer, and if you heard him argue, you'd agree he's perfect for this career. ;)

He won't need a scholarship, he already has about $50k saved up for college and he's got another 8 years to go!

50k isn't that much.  I'd advise saving up hard.

And student loans aren't necessarily a bad thing either.

It costs about $10k a year with books at UW as a resident of WA state.  That's living off campus of course which he can do since we're close to it.  His mutual fund is projected to be about 100k by the time he's 18.
