Corsair Brake Bug
« on: November 17, 2006, 02:04:52 PM »
I was lined up for a graceful landing in a brand new 1A yesterday, and as soon as my wheels hit the ground, I lost control of the thing and got sideways.

As my gear broke off and I started sliding backwards on my belly to what I thought was a stop, I go to .ef and it tells me I have to be at a complete stop to exit flight.

When I looked a bit closer, I was still slowly sliding backwards almost unnoticibly, but when I hit the spacebar to apply the brakes, they worked!

I'm not sure if this works on all belly slides, but it was almost like the old Comet brake/skid bug.

Just an FYI.

Whether it's a bug or not, sometimes it's necessary, like you said you were slowly sliding backwards (some bug there?) -- you'd never have been able to exit the plane until you stopped.. Who knows how long you'd have slid. A minute? An hour?

Why I don't know, but it's saved me from a long, boring wait more than once.

Right, I understand what you're saying, Krusty.

If the sliding is a game bug that happens occasionally and isn't plane specific, then that's one issue.

I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a plane specific bug that's common to the new F4's.

.

get the tail wheel on the ground as SOON as you hit the ground, and pull back on the stick.... this locks the tail wheel straight, stopping the effect of loosing control
