Wouldn't it be great if HTC released a small patch that allowed us to practice against the drones offline? I mean the drones being made enemy so that they would attempt to attack us, like in Warbirds. i am not asking for complicated AI, rather, a simple mode where the AI drones offline will pursue the user. In this way, we can practice offensive and defensive skills off line? What do you guys think? It doesn't take very much code working to create, does it?

While not a fan of the WB setup, I'd like a few things like this. Things like bombers that flight straight patterns (maybe a box circuit?) for bomber attack practice, and so forth.

sviggen, look for WB 2.5 or 3.0 on download.com, or fileplanet.com, or some other major download website. They might have it.

You could always pop along here:
http://www.wbfree.net/

It has a very early version of Warbirds, 2.77 I believe. I have had a go; there is a quick mission builder. The enemy bombers fly in formation, evade, and have AI gunners, and on my first sortie I was blown out of the sky by a group of SBDs. Their tailgunners were fiendishly good shots.

The modern version of Warbirds doesn't seem much more advanced that this earlier version, indeed the entire game seems moribund and dead, which is why I play Aces High instead. The other reason I play Aces High is Soda's Aircraft Evaluations page, which hooked me.
