After installing 1.8 I get the "blue screen of death" about 10 secs after I enter MA.
Before it craches it looks like the framrate is about 5 fps.
I get an error saying something like:
"serios error in VXD Asp4Wave(01)+00014553"

Looks like Im done flying for some time:-(

256 mb ram
Voodoo 3 3000 AGP
Tekram motherboard
DX 8.0a

Looks like your problem is your soundcard or its drivers. What card do you use ?

Your problem is Aureal Vortex DirectSound Driver.
Try to download new drivers and check if they help.

My sounds are porked in AH after 1.08

I installed full installation and get on some beeps and squeals instead of sounds. Trying to download DX8.0a again...

You are right, it was the soundcard.
I have 2 soundcards. One EMU APS for when Im making music and a Terasound A3D card for playing games. When i removed the Terasound card all problems disappeared.
