Hey storch how did you...

How did you get a 109G2 to out turn (horizontal) a Spit VIII? I was watching sondog and you go at it the other day and after several revolutions you guys ended up on the deck turning flat. At first sondog seemed to be gaining on you and I told him the Spit can out turn the 109 in flat turns, but then you started turning in side him. After about 3 360's he had to break and you finished him. :O Not long later he and I tried it and he turned inside my 109G2 and I used full flaps.

What is the trick? :)

No, I don't think so. Storch is good in the 109 as are some others. Sondog and I need all the tips we can get. :)

109's got slats and manuver flaps.  It will not turn with SPits for long but it should/will gain higher AoA on the Spitfire for the shot.

Thanks daddog.  I have to first sy that sondog is a phenomenal player, had he not gone into the flat turn I never would have gotten him.  second I was in a 109G6, if I fly the 109G2 anymore I feel like I'm cheating.  the sequence was full flaps 75% throttle cranking it full as needed then throttling back to 75% and slight rudder into the direction of the turn.  on the other hand creton came into the arena and made me feel like fool,  he in a corsair and me in a 109G6.  the man is just an awesome player.  I'm glad for the asswhippings and the films I was able to get.

When fighting at reasonable speeds, if the spit8 flies at full power and the 109g6 chops the throttle, the spit better not be flat turning to shake the 109.

on the other hand if the spit8 chops throttle and drops flap it again can win in the flat turn.  the spit8 and the 109G is a fair match up.  the outcome being determined by player and not so much by plane.  slash 27 was in the arena last night and I watched him defeat 5 109/190s while dweebing around in a spit8.  I wish I had been filming that one.   on one occasion last night I defeated an F6F and a spit8 flying holding hands wingman tactics while in a 109G6 even though the spit and kitty had much greater alt.  I don't know if either of them may have had prior damage but they both died with just a few cannon pops each.

Oh, I miss understood. I was thinking of an arena setting. If I recall CM's/AVA staff can turn it on or off in an arena. No, sondog and I don't use it.
