Carrier Groups

Ok since i've seen 10 posts about how bombers never destroyed a CV by level bombing etc. etc. I was wondering if it would be possible to make the groups larger.  Maybe adding a light CV and maybe another battleship.

It's just an idea, you could place some restrictions on it, such as larger carrier groups would have to launch from a port near the HQ or on the home island, all other ports would be limited to the regular 1 CV, 1 Battleship.

I think it would make for some spectacular missions.  Just a thought.

There is a "wishlist" forum, and similar things have been requested in the past.

I, personally, would love to see a troop transport ship that would act as a vehicle hangar. If it's sunk, no LVTs or PTs can be launched. It would be inside the "circle of ack" but lightly defended, relying on the other ships to protect it.

That is a good idea, would give more importance and purpose to the carrier groups.  Also tankers could be added as well which would limit the range of the CV and maybe the fuel capacity of the fighters?

Most cv planes had longer ranges (the nature of carrier warfare) and drop tanks. Even on land bases you can only reduce fuel to 75%.

Most of the time the carrier carries its fuel internally in tanks. It "tops off" from the tanker just to stay at 100% all the time, but if it had to it could go for a while without a supporting tanker ship.

IMO that wouldn't be too useful, other than adding variety to the fleet.
