Intel & Spinning Clip Board
« on: March 30, 2007, 01:20:48 AM »
Skuzzy, the other day when I called you  about the spinning clip board, I reloaded windows, the drivers from the mother board CD, then installed the video driver. I still had the spinning clip board so that didnt fix the problem. Previously, I found this link and saved it because I was going to get a dual core.
I followed the instructions for intel, then got equal readings in task manager. The spinning clip board stopped. In reading the Intel fix, for this it is not automatically downloaded. The hot fix is in the link and both cores seem to be working equally.
In spite of the not being finalized stuff, it seems fine and solved the problem.

M36, I have all that information in my sticky posts in the Tech support forum.  If you have the spiining clipboard problem with Intel, it normally means one of three things.

Either you did not load the Intel INF drivers for the motherboard chipset, or the ones you loaded are very old, or you have an Intel CPU, but some other motherboard chipset, such as SiS, VIA.....

Intel includes the updates you are referring to in thier INF driver sets.

Dont know what to say, loaded every driver that came with the CD, mother board is latest version with the latest bios and redid everything they way you directed me to. Continued with the same problem until I loaded the hot fix. Downloaded all the updates after installing windows and still had the problem so  maybe I didnt get this one. Maybe there are exceptions to Intel CPU's. DOnt know, but it works.

Just saw the sticky, it says it is not automatically downloaded on a windows update. Since I downloaded it and it works now maybe the other problems were not issues.

Thanks for the help.

You got the motherboard INF files from Intel?  Or did you just load it from the CD?  Is the motherboard based on the Intel chipset or another brand?

What brand motherboard is it?  I want to be sure to avoid them if they cannot ship correct moptherboard chipset drivers for the Intel CPU.
