How many UK and European members are there?

Are there enough to organise a weekend event, or co-host an event somewhere?

Just a thought...

Martyn,

I have been involved with these fine people for around 10 years now.

Originally we all "flew" in warbirds but as time went on we moved to other sims but still meet up once a year in Holland.

The next Eurocon starts next week and is 3 nights of mayhem, drinking, partying and some even play sims when the bar is closed.

In days of old when the Kraits, Firebirds and Wings of Death populated AH there was a UK con every year that was basically a follow on from similar AW cons held during the late 90's.

Brits seem to be a pretty disparate bunch these days. I dont even know if there are any UK based squads of any size or strength currently active in any organised way.

Martyn,

You are always welcome to contact us at the CM team to host an event in the Special Events Arena.

I just hosted the Spring Meeting for our Finnish Friends last saturday, and it was a great time.

Thats where you are wrong Tilt!

My squad The Few is the only "British" based squad active in game.  I tidied our roster recently to only include active players and we have 14 members.

If everyone who has ever joined our squad was active and playing we would have one of the largest.

However the last 15 tours or so still puts us up there in the top bracket.

PS:  the 71st squad also have a large contingent of Brits but include Americans.  Before i get jumped on by Pooface and Bat!

If you don't find any other European Cons to attend, we have our traditional Mosquito Meeting this summer on 5th - 8th of July this summer here in Finland. I didn't find the invitation pages for 07 but here's the old one for last year. (same place, different time).

If you manage to get yourself to either Tampere/Pirkkala (closer) or Helsinki (further), I'm pretty sure everything from there on can be organized. :) Ryanair flies to Pirkkala, and thus is the preferred airline for this event. Additionally, they're quite cheap.

Thanks guys - I'll check this stuff out.

Currently suffering from the lurgy - so I'll crawl back to bed first.

Thanks again anyway.

I think we're very close to half of the members being "non-American".
