four 'cats in one vid!  tigercat's easy to pick out, wildcat almost as easy, but I'll be damned if I can't tell the hellkitty from the bearcat...  :/  in the last half of this vid, which one is flying with the tigercat, hell or bear?

Hey this video is Bob Hoover the test pilot that flew with Chuck Yeager on the bell X1 project to break the sound barrier.
He's a lover, not a fighter... but he's also a fighter, so don't get any ideas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRaTekm9Ak8  http://one_foggy.tripod.com/sounds/afu_jokeson.wav

Alright, I did some research in my Illustrated encyclopedia of millitary aircraft,  and I believe the plane flying with the tigercat is the bearcat.  It was hard to see details in the video but the plane definatley had a bubble canopy which the bearcat had.  The hellcat and wildcat both had canopies that flowed into the fusalage.

good eye.  watched it again and definately noticed less of a razorback look (so must be the bubble canopy) on the one flying with the tigercat.

Definately a Bearcat, look at the size of the tail, much taller and more angular on a Bearcat than a Hellcat.

Awesome vids all :)

Right, I hadn't even noticed that.
