Excuse me i know what i was asking, im 47 and serverd my country, pay my taxes, and try to live my life to the fullest in this over taxed society.
 i was asking a simple question to people on this board what they think of the Electoral College, i already have my opinion, was interested in other peoples comments was all.

"What people want" was why the electoral college was instituted.

While the president isn't elected by pure popular vote everyone else on the ballot is.

During an election you have state and local politicians looking to get elected/reelected and state/ local propositions that need to be voted on.

How many times was a president elected without winning the popular vote?  I don't know.  

I vote because a ton of folk worked, lived, fought, and died so I could have a say.

Also, many other ballot decisions exist besides who will be president.



I don't mind the electoral college at all.

It's a safeguard.  It attempts to guard me and you from the selfishness, irrationality, an wounded human nature of my/your fellow citizens.

As to how well it works or not, I'll stay mum since that would be another topic.
