I will pick you from alt.

I will not turn fight low and slow.

I will HO you if you have no cannon and an inline engine.

I will take every snapshot I can get.

I will drag you into my base ack and reverse on you.

I will not let you catch me and I will reverse when you break.

Above all I will vulch you without mercy if you let me.

You have been warned.  :t

Seriously, though - the only advantage I have is roll rate and a slight margin in speed over most planes, and not even that sometimes.  I have 250 canno rounds/ gun and I don't want to carry them back home.

I do turn fite if I have lots of e and can go vertical, but since I have no wingman I'm not going to fite co-e with a better turning plane with better acceleration than me.

I'll turn with a P-51 or LA-7 or Tiffie for a few revolutions, but I'll run when I start losing angles.  I won't be cutting my throttle and trying any fancy stuff if you're 800m on my 6 and similar speed.  I'll just drag you to my base or wait till you get bored, then re-engage on equal (or better I hope) terms.

So taunt me if you'd like but I'm not going to turn fite your Yak or Spitfire, and if you don't like my tactics, grab a C205, some alt and get you some perks (think Herb here).  I'm a lousy shot and need 500 rounds to get anything anyway!

Or jump in a Dora and see what it's like for yourself.

Then it doesn't matter to you, I guess.

It seems to matter to a lot of folks in the arena, though, so I just thought I'd mention it.

Dora pilots get taunted for running, but you never see a Zeke pilot taunted for turning too much.

That is because the usual concept of ACM is something like a high AoA matchup where both are hanging on their props half the time.  If you don't fight that way, you get teased.  In reality, WWII fighters became heavier, faster, and better armed for a reason, even at the cost of turning circle: real fighter pilots fly with wingmen.

Rauchen, as another Dora-pilot I agree on almost everything you said. Like Hitech has said himself...the point of this game is to make the other guy pissed. :) Dora is the machine to do that. :) ...And obviously this game is full of morons which cry their hearts out because of the tactics you use but that just makes flying the Dora a bit better. :)

Dora Creed!   (Except the vulching, which I won't do.:p )
And anyone who says Luftwobbles can't turn needs to try the 109f4!

The only thing better than 2 Doras is a Dora winging with a Zeke!

I wish I had a wingman but my personality leaves a lot to be desired...Actually, as a Dad of 4 I fly at odd intervals and can't be depended on.

And yes, real men fly the A8, but I mostly fly it for base defense.  If power corrupts, firepower corrupts absolutely!  Sadly, I get run down in it a lot.  Get lots a practice on my rolling scissor, though.  Getting someone on an overshoot is awesome.

Anyone got some films of a Dora doing a good rope, how do you not lose all your e on the reverse?

Probably because.. he's still engaged with the bogey.  His tail is still up and flared, not limp and tucked between his legs.

That, and he can't really do anything BUT turn.
