It was brought to my attention that some felt us Avengers were snubbing them during the jet bomber mission the other night, by not monitoring the VOX.

I'd like to clear the air here we do not consider ourselves to be elitest or any better than anyone else in the game.  We do however, find all the chatter from VOX over whelming when that many aricraft are inflight. We had our VOX volume turned way down so we could hear our TS channel over it.

We had our hands full flying tight formation on the two aircraft I had designated as pathfinders. They were the only ones who calibrated their bomb sites; the rest of us stayed with in 50 feet and dropped on their call. It's the first time we tried using designated pathfinders and were very pleased with the results.

Again I'm very sorry if anyone felt we were not being social, we didn't mean to upset anyone and were just busy with the task at hand.

Interesting.

And very authentic.  First time I heard of anyone trying this.

Acutally the Haze has tried this a couple times, unfortunately we got pretty poor results.

After looking into it more, I think that was more due to the difficulty we were having initially with calibrating the bombsites. We figured that if 1 or 2 guys got thier sites zero'd in that the rest dropping would be somewhat accurate.

Unfortunately the pathfinders didn't zero in well and that probably caused the rest to be off mark.

Cool that the Avengers got it down and working to satisfyable results.
Congrats guys.

If you are in close formation it works really well.  The delay in the wingmen seeing the leads bombs drop (or hear him on TS), is about the same as their time behind the lead.  If we are doing strat type runs, we almost always drop on lead.

A few JG54 members have done that. They would fly behind me and drop right after I did. I would soften the hanger and they would kill it.

As to the avengers its no big deal after a while with all those people on I kinda wanted to go to a different channel with my gruppe. Having that many people on that one vox channel with different leaders we were talking over each other a few times.

Used the tactic a few times in the DGS event. Worked well when you had 3 times the tonage than needed. Not so well when you had survivers trying to regroup after heavy losses just before drop:)

I tried that with my old squady FBlnwlf (think that was the name) a long time ago, it worked very well actually.  The only error was his slight delay in dropping after my signal.  I was pretty impressed actually.

back in Warbirds, many scenarios were run this way

not too surprising to see ex WB pilots/squads using this tactic

wtg Avengers for having the nads to try it that way
