X & Y axes swapped

HELP!

I have been flying AH for a few months using Saitek X52 with pedals and have had no problems at all. Initial config went without a hitch, got buttons working
everything is great.

Then last night, I tried to bring troops in from the carrier and while trying to
figure out the vehicle controls I must have done something wrong.

Now my X & Y axis are reversed - Y defaults to pitch control, X to roll.

In windows everything appears normal.
In another flight sim everything is normal.

I went as far as to delete and reinstall AH and it still has those axes reversed.

Any ideas?

Bring up clipboard (Esc) in game and go to Options > Controls > Map Controllers.
Select stick as Controller from the top pull down menu.
Double click on X Axis and set as Ailerons from the menu.
Do same for Y Axis and set Elevators.
Click OK

I came across similar situation after I started playing with my new laptop with Vista HP installed. Special case with vehicles was that at first no axis movement was having effect on throttle or wheel. Same thing in gun position - no stick movement affected the gun. Still the input was registered when looking at menu values. I played around with control mappings to get things to work, and I managed to get vehicles responding to X&Y inputs. I still cannot get horizontal movement in a gun position. This maybe possible by playing around some more, but since I mostly fly, it is of little consequence to me.
I have never had any reason to tamper with these basic mappings before.

Perhaps there is some Vista only file permission issue? I'm sorry, but I have no experience with Vista. Perhaps Skuzzy (or someone else) will drop in here and help.

Thanks Folks!

Rolex - your suggestion will work. The axes are inverted as well so I have to switch them AND invert them in the controller set up.

I am curious as to why this would happen.

planes are control mode 1, vehicle are control mode 2 maybe you just never set up CM2 and thats why you were having trouble in a vehicle

I wish it was that simple.

The X axis in the windows control panel graphic corresponds with an x axis but
in AH it now has the properties of the Y-axis and vice versa.

I've remapped everything so it flies normally and I suppose vehicles will work
(now that I know that you have to use the X-axis as throttle in a tank) but I'm a bit spooked.

Glad you got it working. The controller settings are stored in a (controller name).JSM file located in Programs>HTC>Aces High II>settings folder.

Sometimes a goblin will install some strange settings that don't get saved properly when changed. Did you remove Z axis in stick as rudder? BTW, Y axis is throttle in gvs.
