P-38 landing lights?
« on: March 08, 2008, 10:56:07 AM »
I believe the P-38L had one landing light mounted in the forward edge of the port wing, and that earlier models had landing lights mounted on the underside of the wing.

But, were they under both wings, or just the port wing?   I've noticed Fester's skins depict lights on the underside of both, but none of the panel line diagrams I have access to show both wing undersides.   I think Fester's skins are the 38 standard but I would like to confirm this if I can...

P-38s prior to the J model had two retractable lights, one under each wing. The J model introduced a single light under the port wing. This was again changed when the P-38L introduced a single, fixed light in the leading edge of the port wing.
