Bearing Error with Ships Guns
« on: March 06, 2008, 02:30:14 PM »
I noticed that the east/west bearings are reversed in the ships guns. While practicing with the cruisers 5" and 8" guns. If the ship has a heading of due north when you enter one of the forward guns in direct mode with out moving the gun it will read bearing 0, then if you change the course of the fleet to a heading of due east, once the fleet has stabilized on a steady course the bearing will read 270 not 090. If you have not moved the gun, the bearing and heading should be identical.

This sounds like the same thing that happens when you range beyond 16k in land mode, the gun swings the wrong way.
Easy in-game again.

Never noticed that before and don't know how long its been that way. But I click target in land mode and free hand everything else. Yes, compass degrees are clockwise and gun bearing degrees are CCW.
