Rain of Fire: Landing Kills In Cities
« on: July 21, 2008, 04:39:13 PM »
Is there any way to land kills in a city?

Take Nagasaki, for example. It's on the west side of the island. It's marked as a "C" with the designation A86 above it. You can up planes from there but you start on a hillside, facing up.

No problem with that, but I had two kills to land and was pilot injured so didn't think I could make A4-a ways to the north. So, in between blackouts, I managed to land and come to stop on a short stretch of road in the city. I got a ditch.

Seems to me there should be some place to land your kills in your own city. Did I pick the wrong spot to land?

There is something very peculiar about that base.  Reaching back into the depths of my dark and shrouded memory, it seems that there was actually a way to take off from there and to land there, but I don't remember what it was.

Best bet is to avoid the town entirely.

Yeah Grey roads and the tarmacs used to give Succsessful landings.  Now I think it's just runways and tarmacs.

also found out you can't take a KI-61 from that field, when you spawn the plane bounces and smashes the prop. :(

besides that I love the map.  :aok

I believe the Niki is the only plane that doesn't do this there.

B5N seemed to collapse on take off, as well.

As far as landing near the vehicle hangar, are we talking about the one next to the water with the radar/ radio tower next to it? I tried landing there five or six times yesterday. No matter how much I slowed down, when I'd touch ground I'd just keep on going, like my brakes didn't work at all. Went right through the hangar one time and on into the water.

That was the only vh I noticed and I just couldn't land near it.
