Gatt where'd you find that wall? I've been looking for the new clouds but haven't found them yet.

My online callsign is DropBear ..

I've noticed it today as well.
They also have a severe impact on my framerate.
I'm not sure if it's a card/drivers issue, Gatt, what card are you using?

I'm using a ASUS V3800 TNT2 Ultra with 32 Meg of memory, running the ASUS drivers.
Might try the latest NVidia and see if it makes a difference.

BTW Gatt ... thanx for the great fight last night  , you're a credit to the 205!

Cheers

Gotta love those cloud layers and I am sure HTC will get rid of the grey wall soon....right?

I was just above and in a huge cloud layer N of A29 awhile ago and a 109 came screaming up out of the clouds chased by a P51 and flew right past me 12 to 6 oclock, boy was that 109 surprised!
I was too and I knew they were close.

I only got a couple shots off and they both disappeared into the clouds again.

This adds a whole new dimension but the map still sucks.

When did they put this thing in here and WTF is it for?

I had a dogifght in and put of the clouds today, was friggin awesome, we used the layer against each other, was like the books Ive read. I'm sure there are plans on dressing it up around the edges.

Flak,
that grey wall was under the cloud cover near A7 at about 11pm (GMT+1). The worst graphic effect I have ever seen. Under the clouds was dark like during a storm and you could not even see icon colors (quite scary  ).
My card is a GeForce2 GTS with nVidia 6.72 drivers.

I really LOVE the cloudlayer!!! It might look like the spaceship in ID4 but the gameplayeffect is awesome!! And please leave the darkness under the layer - this adds so much immersion, almost like no-icon-enviroment...

Santa and me went on a high alt, long range patrol in Ta152s yesterday and had some fun fights over in and under clouds. The tactics involved are endless!!

Some grafical fine-tuning, some more effects (like moving layer) and you'll only find me near those things...

Ah yes, anyone who doesn't like it - stay away!!! BTW, good way to keep bombers low...

My first reaction on seeing the new clouds from outside was WTF !
But boy get inside and i can forgive the box look outside
Awesome effect really adds to the game.

Must keep the clouds.
Must keep the darkening storm effect under them.

Would be even better if the outside look was improved but once you get in and fight with the clouds how could anybody wanna ditch em ???

So you dont like em ? simple do what i do with enemy CV fleets, keep away and fight elsewhere.

I have to admit it was my first reaction. Moreover looks like there is always a storm in the wrong place and time ... and I'm always there ... like with CV groups

Jokes apart, I've had great fights above/in/below clouds. I've even managed to shoot down Wardog coming down to him travelling just below clouds base ...

The grey box is still ugly indeed ....

I like the clouds. Great for bombing when you stay just below their ceiling. Hide and seek from ftrs.
