Customized Face for Pilot
« on: July 02, 2008, 09:25:51 AM »
I think that there should be an option of uploading a photo, not unlike an avatar, to superimpose over the generic pilot's face in the game.

The photo can be one of your face, somebody else's face, or any image at all--including an animated gif like the kind of some you use in your avatars.

The image should be evident to all players, and should be a great source of comraderie and/or hatred, judging by which country you are from.

If wounded, the face should also show signs of fatigue or injury. If struck directly by fragments or whole shells, the face should be partially or entirely obliterated.

You can import them, any parts of their anatomy, or whatever you want.

You realize that the face of the pilot is a simple 256x256 .bmp? The only 'processing power' it takes is MS Paint.

It will never get by HTC - for one simple reason.

You just KNOW some "mental genius" out there is going to come up with something like this.

EXAMPLE: You have spent several passes shooting up an enemy bomber (Managing not to get yourself perforated at the same time), you swing around for the killing shot, line him up & close in, you are already smiling thinking of all the kills that will be announced in the textbuffer behind your name when you land WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN you notice the tailgunner "MOONING YOU!" - you loose concentration - hesitate for that brief second - and he shoots your arse down in flames. All those dreams down in Flames and Smoke.

You can just imagine the "FLOOD" of wailing and moaning to HTC would rival the Sunami that hit Indonesia.   :cry

Goto Google and type in "French military victories", then hit "I'm feeling lucky".
Here lie these men on this sun scoured atoll,
The wind for their watcher, the wave for their shroud,
Where palm and pandanus shall whisper forever,
A requiem fitting for heroes
