to the 49th FG yet
again! Though the 353rd moved patrol areas, once again the 353rd and it's alumni clashed in the skys. However, this time the advantage went to the 49th.
We pre-briefed the squad for frame two and fully expected contact 10 minutes earlier than everyone else, just as the frame one logs showed. What we weren't prepared for was the fact that we weren't even at our patrol altitude when our 350th FS blundered into the first of Jerry's bombers at low altitude.
The fight got nasty, and soon our 351st squad dove into the fight, leaving the four of us in the HQ flight at 30k rubbernecking all over the sky trying to find our guys.
Enter Shifty's boys at approximately 35k. Can we say unintentional re-match?Salute to Jester and Wolfie, but sorry you didn't get me. You did hole my left wing and main fuel tanks though. As well as Hammy's Aileron and Rudder. Shifty, sorry bud, but Flat blew your aileron off as you overshot him. By the time we disengaged, half the 353rd was down. However, fortune smiled on us, as we didn't have to go far to land.
In all, a fun night! Now what are the chances for round three of the 353rd FG vs. the 49th FG? It's fun matching wits with you guys!
