Tank Wish
« on: August 24, 2008, 11:23:02 PM »
I "wish" the guys at HTC would give us the option to turn off the big "potato" tank tracers, I think they should be modeled more like that 5" and 8" guns on the ships. Just My Wish......

Actually, I like most things about our tank shells. I think they travel at a good speed and have a good trajectory.

Think of how much worse it could be. Ever play Red Orchestra? Tank shells in that game shoot off swirling out of the barrel like girly home made rockets, with a soft pop and a gentle whoosh.

The one thing I'd like to see in AH is different colouring of the tank round. It looks too much like every other tracer in the game. This goes back to another great Wishlist thread asking for historical tracer colours. Why on earth are all our tracers the same colour?

I would like the option to turn the the tracers off not change the way they fly, my comparing them to 5" and 8" was by sight only.

It seems to me that the tanks rounds are moving too slow, AND they are too easily seen by the target.  I'm of the opinion that is is only the impact and muzzle blast we should be seeing.  Then again, I've not even been in a tank battle so I dont really know what they look like.

i kidda saw this thread die off and im trying to get it back up.
i mean it has some great points in it.

1. why not have it where you see the tank blast fire from muzzle ?

2. why have a tracer on a tank gun ? i mean wouldnt that be pointless if your trying to shoot at and enmy ? ( i say this because if you miss then they know where your at. if you have no tracer's then they have no clue. which in terms means element of surpise that all tanker's try to keep )

 :furious

would like to get some answers on these please.

I have never seen a tank round without a tracer, even the M1A2s have tracers and they have a super advance aiming system. Honestly if people can turn off tracers in tanks it will suck for people who dont have the graphics to see where tanks are.

I don't know if those are tracers, I'm pretty sure it's meant to simulate a 7-and-a-half-plus centimeter piece of red hot metal flying through the air.

for one thing and probably the only thing that actually bugs me about the gv game, we shouldn't be hearing the shot before the round gets to ya...

ya know.. the speed of sound..  :D

which apparently in ah2 = speed of light.

example: at 1200 yds it should take ~ 3.18 seconds for the sound of the shot to travel.
