There is always their voting record............  (BIG indicator IMHO)

The things they say in public...........  (got to really watch that and then compare it to above)

Their history, how they grew up....   (how's that saying go?  as the twig is bent so grows the tree?)

are you watching them on TV? (if so are you serious?)
