Was pondering the question of the new cloud layers when...
« on: February 25, 2001, 12:38:00 AM »
This afternoon after looking at the new cloud layers screens the idea struck me that if it was possible for clouds to completely blanket an area or target.  What about being able to get a weather report for a given sector in the map room or somthing.  It could get updated every so many minutes and wouldn't be 100% accurate nessesarily.  But would help plan missions and such to take advantage of weather fronts, etc.  A nice general report somthing that if the target was mostly covered someone could still take off and hope for that one golden break in teh clouds to drop bombs through or somthin. Anywho just a thought.

Clear,
lite cloud cover.
medium cloud cover.
heavy coud cover.

also you could look at thwere all the clouds are and use them to sneak in and out which would be really cool.

Y know though that there wont be TOO many coulds becasue people will complain that the clouds are interfearing with their mindless furballs.

How's this idea:

Have a button on the clipboard that when pressed superimposes a "satellite photo" view of the last reported cloud state over the map.  Or maybe a synoptic chart showing the weather fronts so it takes some skill to predict the clouds movements.  If this is too "gamey", make it only available in the maproom (as suggested).
