Tanks, wishes and thoughts

Tanks!
1.No distance icons on them, only dusttrail (dusttrail=Red or green icon at 3k marking friend or foe).
2.A rangefinding device connected to maingun, instead of crosshair.
3.Make it nearly impossible to hit with a moving tank. An "automatic" gearbox and the throttle, spacebar, rudder setup would make it easy for the "gunner" to control the tank. Halt for to shoot, take of, halt to shoot, etc, etc
4.Slow down reload time on maingun. Stresses the battle. Sweat should be pouring from the "tanker" and make him move, not to be a sitting duck. "GO!GO!GO!GO!GO! AP,UP! HALT!
FIRE! GO!GO!GO!"
5.Turrett taking of like a rocket, before tank explodes.
6.Bailing from tank, and runing from it at least 500 yards before "ditch". (Heheheh getting some use for that bowMG!)
7.Tank to be harder against "strafers" and m16, softer against AP ammo. It should take a tank or a bomb to get a tank to blow up. Even if its not "accurate" it would make the use of tanks more dangerouse. Now you take of and nearly any plane can take you out, even if it takes a while.
8.No "f3" view, a tank has a lot of blind spots caped. All fieldview from tankcommanders seat, trough the periscope/Slits
9.Provision for smoke/flames, both for a burnin tank and for to use smoke as cover.

WOW HTC, Maybe you beat the WWII and put em out of buisness before they even get their beta out! Poor, guys.
(By the way, is there anyway to buy stock in HTC?)

Anyway, just sugestions, to make things better, even if they are good.
AH Really rocks now!

Last thing, pretty cool if a c47 could drop servicecrew/ammo and fuel for tanks and they could pick it up! (service crew to fix blown up Tracks, engines, guns, etc, etc.)

Please preserve the nice paintjob on my 205, keep my wep always goin and load my guns with Fresh ammunition, the fuelgaugemeter in the middle, May my fellow Knights call 6 and cover my weak spots in times during T&B, May the infideling Hawg go away forever from AH! Good ideas , generally you can use the tank "height" for ranging like when deer hunting , but a nice laser ranger would b sweeeeet.

Well, I was´nt thinking about lasers, more about the true ranging device used by artillery, flaks and tanks.

Well...

Tanks could/can fire on the run. Check Badger's comments in the vehicle forum. He has extensive M4 experience, and would probably know.   I think he stated 83% accuracy at 10mph. That is not insignificant.

I don't know about increasing reload time. Seems slow now, but I defer to experts here.

On point #7 I don't know... that is a nasty can of worms.

Good thoughts for discussion.

Sure, any tank can fire on the move, however, only tanks with stabilized guns would have any chance of actually hitting what they were aiming at.

AFAIK, the German Mk IV did not have this ability. In fact, I'm not sure if any of the WW2 era German tanks did.

This was one of the few things the Sherman had going for it (other things being faster turret traverse, better reliability, and on average faster than most German tanks).

So bring on the Sherman.

Hi all

I would love to see an offline only firing range for the tank with marked up ranges!

Yep you are correct concerning the M4, but I am talking about the current tank, Panz. IV.
Reload time: Fire rate is 6 rounds per minute, I dont know the Original fire rate.
(as for exampel if SAW is loader, you might have 6 rounds per HOUR!!)
