Task Group Control and other Errata
« on: November 05, 2008, 10:42:47 AM »
1.  One thing I failed to place in the objectives, but the CICs will have full control of the CV Task Groups throughout the frame.  The CVs must stay inside of the boxes as depicted on the Frame Map issued with the objectives.

2.  I'll make a plea for squads to please take some time to familiarize themselves with all three aircraft and carrier takeoffs.  Furthermore, Midway has an unconventional runway layout, and all three runways are much shorter than what you typically see in the MA or other SEA maps.  Flapped takeoffs are pretty much standard from my practice, even with an F4F.  Again, I would ask that everyone take a few practice hops to avoid what could be a real hack job of the event logs at the beginning of the frame when all those folks typically crash on takeoff.  The scoring system depends on counting the number of aircraft that takeoff, and its so much easier for me to manage when 1 player takes off 1 time only.

Gorgeous map. If only the mains looked this good.  :aok
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Thanks for the heads up Stoney. Consider shooting out an e-mail to the C.O.'s if you have not already just in case they don't read this post.

Emailing this is a good idea. I'm sure more people will read them then read these forums.

Spivey put these two points in the Allied orders.  When I get home this afternoon, I'll ensure that I send out the information to Axis squads.
